Although much of my work is expressive and colorful, I’m a minimalist at heart. Simplicity is critical in my creative process. I’ve adapted the use of vibrant pastels, acrylics and sumi ink to paint traditional themes with contemporary aesthetics. It is my fascination with the antique and the avante-garde that continually influences my style of painting.
I began painting as a private pastime at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio where I studied industrial design. Upon returning to my native Chicago, I began a career in interior design yet still painted privately. I decided to pursue my art full-time after hosting a successful premiere show in 1994. Currently, I work from my studio in Chicago, receiving clients by appointment.
